The Sky Was on Fire

This amazing book is a 300-page full colour hard cover book of first person stories, poems, and photos about the May 2011 wildfires. The books was written by four local volunteers and produced with grants obtained through the Slave Lake Adult Education Committee from Alberta Culture and the Slave Lake United Way. Proceeds from the book will go to community beautification, a scholarship for students pursuing education in the arts, and local history and archives.

The book can be purchased in Slave Lake at the Slave Lake Multi-Rec Centre or the Rotary Library of Slave Lake, in Calgary at the Calgary Firefighters' Museum, in Edmonton at Audrey's Books or the Provincial Museum, in Athabasca at Morningstar Ink or by clicking here: http://www.stagenorth.org/assets/book.html

And it's only $30!
