Emails Recieved from All Over, Wishing Hope to Residents
Hi - my husband and I own a small construction company in Red Deer, Alberta (Stan Hunter Construction Ltd.) and we have been approached by several residents to help them rebuild their homes. We recently made a trip up to Slave Lake to see for ourselves and were caught off guard by the total devastation of your disaster. We were very impressed by the heart and spirit of the residents we encountered and this project has become very dear to us as we now feel a personal connection and we can't wait for the go ahead from the Town to help begin the rebuild. Keep the faith Slave Lake!

"Was in Slave lake a week ago for the first time in my life. It is such a beautiful little city. Even after what all the residents and surrounding area went through, they are still so friendly and inviting into their city. I truely enjoyed my short but wonderful visit there and I can not wait to go back.Brought a tear to my eye as I drove around and saw all the devastating damage that mother nature did on May 14th weekend. And to know that my daughter was part of it. Our hotel was very clean, comfy and staff very very friendly. Would definately be my choice to return to this beautiful city and enjoy some more time there with such friendly people. Even though you all witnessed a devasting fire, you are still all so friendly and have not let this devastating disaster put a damper on things. I am truely blessed to have beeen able to get there and see for myself what Slave residents had to witness and my heart goes out to each and everyone of you's."
